Take-off on our Adventurer Programme, with high-adventure activities. This programme is aimed at children in year 6 and 7+ and is our most challenging outdoor residential programme at Humphrey Head.
Experiences out-of-doors helps to develop pupils physical skills in new and challenging situations and enables them to exercise important social skills such as team work and leadership. Successful learners are confident individuals who are effective contributors and responsible citizens and we know learning takes place very effectively outside the mainstream classroom. From entering the depths of the earth in limestone caves, to scrambling up a Lakeland Ghyll, these activities are more challenging, high-octane and help give students an appreciation of a healthy lifestyle through physical activity.
Our Adventurer Programme develops students’ confidence by encouraging them to live and act more independently and make their own decisions, encouraging group ownership for learning and community living. Improve students’ emotional health and well-being, give them the opportunity to claim their own independence, make their own decisions and work out who they are and their place in the class, their school, the world.
