Accompany your pupils on their first steps towards a lifetime of love for and understanding of the outdoor world! Taking children out of the classroom helps to nurture creativity and imagination and encourages learning through play and experience. Our Investigator Programme is aimed at children in years 3 and 4, but can also be adapted to suit older students involved in the John Muir Award.
This activity programme gives children the opportunity to experience a range of practical and physical challenges and provides a safe space to explore new ways of learning. The residential experience put children into a new, collaborative community environment, with new routines and opportunities to be immersed in learning - from how to make their own bed and make a packed lunch, to how to light a small fire and survive in a forest!
The Investigator Programme helps to develop a strong ‘Sense of Place’ and gives children the opportunity to investigate a contrasting geographical location in Morecambe Bay. The activities are designed to be low impact: local activities with limited travel, to give the maximum amount of time for the group to investigate their environment.
