Climate change in the Lake District

Alfred Wainwright said ‘There’s no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing’. Was he being curmudgeonly, or is there more than a grain of truth in that well-used saying?! But climate change means that weather in the Lake District is definitely changing, with hotter dryer summers (which dries out our peat bogs) and wetter, warmer winters and more erratic weather patterns.
